Belonging Through Making

"Mosaic Booklet" is an educational and creative project developed for Entimaa' — an Arabic word meaning "belonging." The brand offers a wide range of locally made handcrafted products, and through every purchase actively supports community-based projects across Jordan.

At the heart of the project is not only the booklet, but a complete interactive kit. Alongside the book, participants receive a box containing essential tools and materials such as a brush, mosaic tesserae, and a hands-on game designed to build and compose mosaics. This combination transforms learning into a tangible and immersive experience.

Fusifous فُسيْفوووس

Through the story of the character "Fusifous" (فُسيْفوووس), a small mosaic cube seeking restoration, participants are guided on an engaging journey that blends storytelling, history, and artistic practice. The narrative introduces the historical importance of mosaics, such as those of the ancient Baptistery dating back to 531 AD, featuring animals and natural elements once present in Jordan.

Learning by Doing

The booklet integrates educational content with interactive activities: word games, search exercises, observation tasks, and reconstruction challenges, as well as step-by-step instructions for creating mosaics. Participants learn about the structure and techniques of mosaic art while developing manual skills, precision, and creativity.

In the final stage, each participant is encouraged to design and create their own mosaic using the materials provided in the kit, becoming an active "artist-restorer." This experiential approach promotes active learning and fosters a deeper connection with cultural heritage.
