The Società Dante Alighieri in Amman commissioned a series of ten posters celebrating Italian figures and their contributions across different fields. My task included selecting the people to feature and creating a visual interpretation of each, presented in Italian and Arabic.
I selected ten figures whose work offered distinct stories to explore through images. Among them were Samantha Cristoforetti, Roberto Bolle, Bebe Vio, Gianni Rodari, Gae Aulenti and Massimo Bottura, bringing together space exploration, dance, sport, literature, architecture and cuisine.
Each person’s field of work shaped the imagery surrounding their portrait. The objects and visual references became part of the storytelling: plates and forks, for example, place Bottura within a composition inspired by his culinary practice.
I personally conceived and composed every collage, selecting and arranging the visual elements without generative AI. This individual work on each image sits within the creative direction of the complete series.
Ten original collage illustrations became a series of bilingual posters. Each composition interprets its protagonist through imagery connected to their work, while the poster design brings the individual portraits together as a coherent collection.
